Descriptionbroken pottery fragments of various kinds; earthenware sherds in orange to grey fabrics, often only glazed internally of either Scottish or Dutch/German manufacture, and are often body sherds of pipkins or similarly rounded vessels; sherds of Delftware-type tin-glazed earthenware with a creamy, porous fabric with occasional red-brown inclusions, mostly from plates with a thick, white slightly-blue-tinged glaze often with a blue decoration (although one example is further decorated with purple and yellow); German stoneware consisting of a few pieces of brown-glazed ware and a single fragment from a blue-decorated Westervald vessel. 17th to early 20th century. Found during excavations at Craigievar Castle.
