Inscribed 'Relics of James Ferguson: F.R.S:- Made by Himself. | 1st A Box-wood Wheel of 33 teeth; being the wheel which carried round the | second satellite of Jupiter in his "Satellite-Machine":- 2d A Paste-board Tube which | belonged to one of the wheels of ditto:- 3d The Box wood Handle or Winch, Which | set in motion the Wheelwork, and satellites of ditto:- 4th A small semi-circular | Card, divided into minutes; (use unknown:- 5th A Paste-board Wheel of 45 teeth, which | worked into, and and set in motion, No. 6, The Trundle-Wheel of 15 Cogs, fixed on an axis | of three cranks; This Wheel and Trundle belonged to his working model of a Triple Pump; and was put in motion by Electricity:- 7th The Apogee-Pointer of his Mechanical Paradox. | These Relics are the fragments of entire models made by Mr. James Ferguson FRS London; and | which were gifted by him in 1775 to his intimate friend Mr Adam walker, Lecturer in Natural Philo- | -sophy London; and whose son, Mr Dean Walker, Lecturer on Astronomy - Albany - Street, | Regents-Park London, gifted to E. Henderson, while in London, on January 28th. 1831. | E. Henderson'.
