DescriptionSilver trophy with lid and wooden base. The handle for the lid is an angel with laurel crown. The trophy is decorated with a classical Greek-style frieze of horses, riders and chariots. Inscribed above the frieze 'The Boothy Trophy'. Winners are named on the silver plates on the wooden base. Hallmarked London, 1928.
Presented by Robert Boothby, M.P., in 1953, the Boothby Trophy was awarded to skippers of fishing boats in Banff and Buchan who had landed that year's largest catch. The Trophy was awarded from 1953 to 1966.
