DescriptionRectangular wooden toolbox. Made of unpainted wooden planks, attached by metal strips and nails at sides and bottom. The top of the box has a metal holding loop affixed to it. The top half of the front of the box is a hinged wooden panel that, once unhooked, opens outward to gain access to the box interior. 30 granite tools once stored in this toolbox, and together they weigh 42 kg.
The lower front panel contains a painted "S.D." for Stuart Diack. The top and sides of the box contain the remnants of former shipping labels. The last complete label on the top is a red label reading:

Stuart Diack is known to have worked seasonally in the granite industry in Barre, Vermont, USA.
