DescriptionThree Kiwanis Indian Days souvenir dollars, mounted on chain, in pink velvet presentation case. 'Indian Days' were introduced in Banff, Alberta, at the beginning of the 20th century as a tourist attraction, focusing on First Nation peoples and their culture. While First Nation participants were treated as 'exhibits' by the white organisers, many tribal communities used the days as a way of beginning to reassert their place in their native homeland.
