Scabbard of steel, with steel chape and two loose-ring ferrules. There are no stamps on the quillion or guard. It was common for officers to prefer an ornate hilt, so the blade would be military standard whilst the hilt would be added by a private swordmaker to the owner's specifications. hence the proof markings only being on the blade.
