DescriptionInfantry officer's sword, circa 1803, with lion's head pommel with ring. The knuckle-bow has a crowned GR cipher, all in gilt finish. The fish-skin grip has silver wire binding. The curved blade is engraved with the Georgian coat-of-arms and various scroll-work. The scabbard is leather with gilt chape and mounts. Blade spine inscribed 'J.J. Runkel, Solingen'
