Descriptionsteel Egyptian helmet, of classic conical design incorporating a sliding nasal bar with a spike holder on crown. Aventail in three v-shaped points. This type was made in Birmingham, England, originally for the bodyguard of the Khedive of Egypt known as the Zirkhagi (Iron Men). Believed to have been taken from an Amir of the forces of Addallah al-Taashi, on the battlefield at Kerreri, 7 miles from Omdurman in 1898.
