In January 1912 the vessel was bound from Newcastle for Glasgow in ballast. On 18 January 1912 the vessel was disabled in a storm and drifted ashore at North Haven near the Bullers of Buchan. There were only 4 survivors from the crew of 57; the bodies were buried at St. James's Church, Cruden.
