Descriptionfragment of Roman samian ware with hole drilled beneath rim and remains of a rivet still embedded in the fabric. Found in Nottingham. Dragendorff typology, part of a decorated bowl with pressed design of an attacking lion. The fragment may have been varnished at some time during the 19th century. Possibly from Lezoux, France. AD 70-230
