Titlepair of Belgian draught horses and horseman. Circa 1900
Creator G. Collie (photographer)
DescriptionBelgian draught horses were not an uncommon sight in the North-east. Smaller and with less feather, they would be easier to keep on farms with heavy, wet soil. The latter was harder on more feathered breeds like the Clydesdale and often led to skin infections. Circa 1900.
